  • At its April 28, 2011 meeting, the Northern Virginia Regional Commission voted to support a letter sent by Fairfax and Loudoun Counties and the Commonwealth of Virginia, calling upon the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) Board to reconsider its decision for the location of the Metrorail station at Dulles International Airport
  • The letter, sent to MWAA Board Chairman Charles Snelling, asked that the board either choose the most cost-effective, aerial option or fund this improvement without funding from the Counties, Commonwealth, or Dulles Toll Road
  • This action comes following the decision by the MWAA Board to select an underground station for the Metrorail station at Dulles International Airport; the underground station costs approximately $300 million more than an aerial station.
