Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) is an innovative way to finance clean energy projects on commercial, multifamily, and nonprofit buildings (excluding condos and properties with less than five dwellings). Legislation passed in the 2015 Virginia General Assembly, and signed by Governor McAuliffe, enables PACE loans in Virginia.
As of November 2019, Arlington, Fairfax and Loudoun Counties, the City of Alexandria and the Town of Dumfries have adopted PACE programs. You can learn about the specifics of Arlington’s PACE program on their dedicated web site. You can download a copy of Arlington County's PACE ordinance and accompanying materials by clicking here.
