2022 Winter Salt Management Training

NVRC is holding a free, day-long training on winter salt management for private contractors on September 27, 2022 from 9 am to 4 pm

Location: 3040 Williams Drive Ste. #200, Fairfax, VA (NVRC Office)

Private snow and ice management contractors, e.g., those that manage operations for parking lots, sidewalks, and other property infrastructure, play a critical role in the amount of salt that enters the environment every winter. Incorporating winter maintenance best management practices into the planning and performance phases of operations can minimize negative effects of salting and continue public safety.

This event, led by AMT Engineering, will focus on topics to improve contractors' snow and ice removal services and reduce salt impacts on local waterways. This includes:

  • Eco-friendly salting 101
  • Planning tools and guidance
  • Salt application practices
  • And more!

Space is limited for this event and currently reserved for private snow and ice management contractors. Interested participants can send their name and contact information to registrations@novaregion.org to register for the training.

For additional information or questions, please contact Rebecca Murphy, Coastal Program Manager at NVRC.
