Job Title:   Federal Contracts Monitor

Closing Date/Time:  February 2, 2018

Job Type:   Full-time merit

Salary:    $51,500-$68,600 depending on experience

 

Description:  Northern Virginia Regional Commission (NVRC) seeks to start 2018 by adding a Federal Contracts Monitor to its AIDS Section staff.  Successful applicant will manage contracts with community organizations providing health care and support services to low-income persons with HIV (PLWH) in Northern Virginia.  Illustrative duties: (1) Evaluating contracted service provider progress in meeting deliverables and in terms of service quality and health outcomes for clients, (2) Updating contract materials to include all requirements of the funding agencies, (3) Preparing special conditions within contracts to address performance deficiencies or special circumstances, (4) Reviewing contractual documents returned by subcontractors for sufficiency and clarity, (5) Preparing (or assisting) with reports required by the funding sources and with procurement documents such as Requests for Proposals, and (6) Addressing subcontractor technical assistance needs.  Candidate needs a strong analytical background, understanding of and ability to use health data to assess performance, and knowledge of health insurance systems/health insurance reimbursement practices.  Grant funded position.  

 

Minimum Qualifications:  Bachelor’s Degree in human services (social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, public health, nursing) or closely related field PLUS two years professional experience with federal grants and contracts.  Master or equivalent may be substituted for one year of experience.  Position may be under-filled.  Valid driver’s license and one’s own transportation.

Preferred Qualifications:  Federal grants management coursework or certificate, experience with the federal Ryan White program, work experience in Virginia, and bilingual English/Spanish.
